Difference between Physical and Logical Standby Database

Logical Standby - It permits us to add additional Objects (For e.g. Tables, Indexes, Constraints, etc) to the database (Logical Standby was introduced from Oracle 9.2.0 Release)

Physical Standby - It is always an exact structural duplicate of the master database

Logical Standby - makes the dml statements using archivelogs generated and applies to the secondary database

Physical Standby - It applies the archived redo log files. Archived files are transfered by RFS and MRP (Managed Recovery Process) applies to standby database.

Logical Standby - Logical Standby tables are accessible by SQL Queries and all other objects can be updated
